Is your spray record 2027-ready? A checklist

Every record includes

• ☐ Product name and authorisation number (MAPP in Northern Ireland and the UK, PCS in Ireland)
• ☐ Date, and time where relevant
• ☐ Dose applied, for example L/ha or kg/ha as on the label
• ☐ Area, volume or quantity treated
• ☐ Crop or land use with its EPPO code
• ☐ BBCH growth stage, where the label restricts use to certain stages
• ☐ Where the treatment took place (IACS parcel, grid reference, GPS point or another accepted method)
• ☐ Who applied it, and with what equipment

Your records are

• ☐ Made at the time, not written up days later
• ☐ Kept electronically in a machine-readable format (CSV, Excel, JSON or XML; a PDF or a photo of a paper sheet is not enough on its own)
• ☐ Kept for at least three years
• ☐ Ready to send to an inspector on request

If you spray for clients

• ☐ Each client can see, or has a copy of, their records without undue delay
• ☐ Records are split by client and site, so nothing is shared by mistake

Before 1 January 2027

• ☐ You have chosen how you will keep electronic records
• ☐ Your 2026 paper records are planned for transfer (by 31 January 2027 in Northern Ireland)
• ☐ Everyone who sprays for you knows the new fields
